mass messages

Over the past few months I have been recieving spam emails from onlinegaminforum.co.nr daily. When signing up I asked not to be emailed by admins and I have even contacted the owner asking to be removed from the mail list around 2 months ago, he said I would be but I never was. Earlier today I contacted him again and he said he wasn't going to remove be and that I should be supporting the forum, I was also told (to put it politely) to "shove off".

I'm sure you appreciate the serious of the matter and take the appropriate action.

Regards,
Ozzie Ing

If you can still sign into the account then change your email address, this will bounce all there emails back to them.

A warning will be sent.

You should ask for your forum membership to be deleted, you could also change your email address to a false one.

There is no way in phpbb2 to remove someone from mass emailings.

I will on the forum`s defence say that i am also on that mailling list (cant remember why), and have only ever received about 1 or maybe 2 every other month.

And that has only started within the last 3 or 4 months.
ozzie

I have a log of the emails I have recieved from them.
Last few Dates:
21 Apr
18 Apr
16 Apr
14 Apr
etc.

Maybe I exagerated slightly with one a day but it is one every two days more or less. I have already requested to be removed and haven't been. Ill just log in and change my email. The thing is it shouldnt come to this. What they are doing is VERY wrong, especially how rude they were to me and the fact they refused to remove my account etc.

That is incorrect. I send out newsletters every 1-4 weeks.

As admin says, there is no way that I can take you off of our list and I did tell you that. I am not stopping you from changing your email address so that you do not receive our newsletters.

I said that I wasn't going to remove you because I didn't know how. And I NEVER told you to shove off or anything like that.

I can even send admin proof that I never said just things.

Garbage! If you think I was rude to you, PROVE IT by posting a screenshot of the 'rude behaviour' that I supposodly used towards you!

Please stop making up rubbish!
admin (no pm's please)

just deleted the account so he is no longer a member.

I cannot currently judge who is telling the truth on email frequency.

But in my view mass emails should not be more than one a week at most, though we try not to micro manage forums at this level we do take a dim view of spam.
ryan

I usually send out a quick newsletter every 2-3 weeks (sometimes each week if there are important announcements).

They are not spam. I just provide members will updates of the competitions that we run, the number of members and the number of posts that we have.

Am I okay to continue like this?
