I've already set the A records on dns.myff.org and everydns.com

But can I get: sp.harsh-reality.net mapped to scholaepalatinae.myfabforum.org please?

I've got a member telling me they are getting the "forum does not exist" page from www.harsh-reality.net

It's loading fine for me, with or without the www.  Other subdomains are also working.

One member with the error did a ping... IP is coming back as 64.38.5.250, but it should resolve to 64.38.19.222

I think that is because you have a domain and then a subdomain in the system, so you end up with two conflicting records

I think the only sane answer is to take these domains to everydns.net and off the myff.org nameservers, that way you can do all the fancy things without the system having to be clever enough not to conflict with your intentions.

So just remove them entirely from the MYFF domain?

Is the problem basically that the system is getting confused with the standard harsh-reality.net having no subdomain and is not resolving?

Well, I removed the records from myff, and moved them to afraid.org  I kept the everydns ones, just moved them to primary.

So, I'm hoping that fixes it all.

I hope so, basically you are going beyond what the system is designed for. So it is far better for you to be off the system and hence in full control.

Which kinda sucks... I liked using the MYFF servers because they responded so much faster than everydns.

Back to the original question... Can you think of any reason that it won't let me stay logged in with sp.harsh-reality.net?

I cleared cache, checked cookies, made sure they were allowed, made sure they were being stored... the problem though is that it won't let me do it.  Does it have to do with being a subdomain, and the server is checking for harsh-reality.net cookies rather than sp.harsh-reality.net cookies?

The normal scholaepalatinae.myfabforum.org works fine, and that's the only way I can stay logged in.  Otherwise I can login, see the screen saying I am logged in, and then it immediately logs me out - but only from sp.harsh-reality.net

not sure. But since the dns is unstable for that domain, that might have something to do with it.
