A couple of weeks ago another key log fell into place on my FC6 Linux, basically Firefox got itself stable at last
That was a severe issue given the nature of my work, but still not enough to get me back working in windows.

Could you run Vista with Ubuntu? I believe thats called a Dual Boot, but Vista seems to be a hard drive freak....

I am pretty sure you can, but whilst I have done dual boots in the past, I prefer to steer clear of them. Too much at stake!

Would a corrupt president. err hard drive be one of them?

The dangers are:

1) Two operating systems and all your data at stake.
2) Risk one of them won't understand the dual boot and will play with the boot sector.
3) Risk that following disk corruption rescue procedures will be marred by the duel boot.

Having said that my main work box is dual boot but then that is such a backed up box it could fry this second and I would be back working tomorrow.

Suse is a feature rich and full linux package, i use it myself.

It has video/photo editing software, games, developer software and alot more if you get the full download.

I would recommend trying it

There are a lot to choose from, I did give SUSE a try in my last look at distributions, I seem to recall I gave it the thumbs down as it would not simply and intuitively configure to view a windows network. If they cannot get the basics right for the normal user, then I don't think it should be supported.
That is why I am taking a shine to Ubuntu, a lot more does seem to work "out of the box".

Ubuntu and Pclinux are the best I came across

I'm thinking about getting Linux.

1. How big is the OS approximately?
2. Where can I get the original OS?
admin (no pm's please)

What do you mean the original OS?

Seems to me you need a total Linux primer

technically linux is strictly just a 2mb "kernel" that does the hardware access and taking bits. Even that can be cut drastically.

Linux distributions on the other hand cover from what can be held on a floppy up to several CDs of open source goodies.
