I rather like it
WHEN IT WORKS!
Now its corrupted on my XP machine and it isn't on my vista lappy.
I unitall it and reloaded it, still doesn't work with a damn.
Only reason I use it, is to talk with my friends and the instant mail thing is awesome for a forum.

It has always had a crap reputation for much of what the guy says on his site.
Even here we have had to tweak our code to help AOL users with the forums, as AOLS proxies are stupidly configured.

You can bet others suffered in silence.
When sites need configuring or software needs programming specifically to deal with the way another program/isp chooses to mess with standard practice, then it is that program/isp at fault.

I use AOL and I dont really see anything wrong with it, most things work fine for me, the AOL browser looks good and its also really easy to use.

It is a bit of a circular argument that, in the sense that I could wipe the smile off your face in a minute by removing the code we have had to put in to make the forums here work with AOL!
The internet works on open standards, all companies that screw with that, make like hard.
I am feeling that currently with the templates for the forum, the fact that ie7 is not standards compliant is costing me a great number of hours work. When people use the end result they will say "I don't see the problem with ie7" the site works for me

1. if you are on wireless then you dont need the AOL programme. you're password/username goes into the router and you then connect directly to the net with no AOL programme.
2. no wireless? then simply log onto the bt test programme with your'e username/password and again, the AOL programme is bypassed
no log on problems, 100% connection all the time, unlimited downloads.....
