Is this readable?
I am thinking of replacing the phpbb2 anti-spam image confirmation with our own.
Ours may not be superior, but would have the virtue of being ours alone and hence not every spammer/hackers on the nets target for cracking.
So it it legible?

Perhaps the question should be is it "acceptably" readable?
This version is about mk50 as I have tweaked it trying to get it as human readbable as possible whilst making it hard for a machine.

Ignoring the mickytaking, the question is not whether you can read the numbers, I'm sure we all can, but is the level of legibility one you'd be content to use as part of the registration process?
I have put the standard image confirm on this forum again today and still a spammer or two have signed on, maybe they are doing it manually, or maybe we need a better image confirm...

It's acceptably legible to me - even without my glasses on!

Give them a maths problem to solve instead that will stop any bot.
No i,m not joking i have seen it before elsewhere when you sign up you had a question to answer really easy ones like what day of the week is it or 2x2=

Or tell them to read it backwards

that is a really excellent idea, and if this doe snot work well I may use it. Meanwhile this approach fits in with not making more changes to phpbb2 than is needed.
All I have done here is replace usercp_confirm with my own code and in another file change the characters used. So it is a very clean simple change.

Like everyone i can read it without having to look closely and i'm sitting about 3 feet away from the monitor lol. So i say yup this is not only readable but its legibility is excellent aswell.
Just hope this works.

Well that's why I posted the numbers backwards, it wasn't meant as a p##s take at all, setting a macro up to show text that reads "enter the number code you see backwards to confirm" in bold, should be very difficult for any bot to get past.
