I have one, my reward to myself for giving up smoking put the money away from not buying cigs and 5 weeks later ordered one.

I love it, was always dubious about buying into the IPOD phenomenon, but I am glad I did. I purchased a piece of software that converts DVD's to play on the IPOD. I then convert a film every night, it takes nearly as long to convert as it does to watch them. Then burn the files to a DVD to save space on the PC.

I usually have about 4-5 Films on the IPOD and 3,200 music tracks (all legal I might add ) and still only use half to a third of the 30gb drive. It goes everywhere with me, I have a tape converter for using it in the car (was looking at using an FM transmitter, but they are illegal in this country at the moment, although they are looking at reviewing that law) , I take it too the gym, use it at work, use it at home (was a complete waste of time buying a new stereo as the only thing that now gets used on it is the AUX function. All my CD's are now ripped and in boxes in the attic, much to the other half's joy.

Going to be great when I go on holiday, I can sit by the pool when SWMBO goes for her afternoon siesta, have a cold beer and watch a film in the sunshine. The only downside to that is that SWMBO will want to put some of her CD's on it for the holiday, now call me crazy but Barbara Streisand; Il Divo; The Osmonds and the other sorted CD's she has are not what I call music.
