I'm now 41 and stopped last year. I'd been smoking since I was 12 years old.
st. I wanted to give up.
nd. Went and bought 21 patches, nicotinelle 15Mg 16 hour patches that you don't wear when asleep as they cause nightmares!
rd. I went to the doctor and asked for a prescription 2 weeks later (that way I always had a week's supply) and told them I'd already stopped.
th. Regular weekly appointments with the practice Nurse (if you ever saw a naval nurse in uniform, you'd go weekly as well!)
th. I am still not an ex smoker and never will be, it is just a long time since I had my last smoke. I have a slightly different mental approach to it: I can still smoke if I want to; I just choose not to...
