I stopped when i was 16
St0rm[TitE]

ive been smoking since primary school and im now 34.

Sgts, did you use any aids such as nicotine patches to give up?

think im gonna find it tough going giving up

I'm now 41 and stopped last year. I'd been smoking since I was 12 years old.

1st. I wanted to give up.

2nd. Went and bought 21 patches, nicotinelle 15Mg 16 hour patches that you don't wear when asleep as they cause nightmares!

3rd. I went to the doctor and asked for a prescription 2 weeks later (that way I always had a week's supply) and told them I'd already stopped.

4th. Regular weekly appointments with the practice Nurse (if you ever saw a naval nurse in uniform, you'd go weekly as well!)

5th. I am still not an ex smoker and never will be, it is just a long time since I had my last smoke. I have a slightly different mental approach to it: I can still smoke if I want to; I just choose not to...
