http://thedarksithlords.myfreeforum.orgA little over two years ago I helped found this site, and recently, under very little provocation - of the type that could, at the most extreme, perhaps cause a warning to be issued - I was permantly banned. Now, I know the person who has done it, he is at times quite paranoid and insecure, and as such made himself the sole administrator. A large number of users on the site are unhappy with the ban, and I, as well as others who have been banned by him - a user who wasn't even around from the beginning - require access to the site for a multitude of things. Is there not anyway that he could be told to stop banning my IPs? (I can access the site from different IPs as my parents are divorced and I recently travelled interstate) |

The site owner does own the site, how well or badly it is run is not something we can deal with. | ||

He's not the site owner though, he's a user who managed to get his way into a position that no one else thought he deserved, then removed all other admins to insure he couldn't be usurped. | ||

If he's not the original admin then the original admin should be able to regain control at the control panel

It's a proper myfreeforum, but the original admin has left, and I don't really have a way to contact him. | ||

We can only provide so many mechanisms for forums to dig themselves out of holes.
Any means of recovery has to be one that can be non judgmentally applied. |

Well, the guy is now threatning other users when they raise concerns about his conduct, and is heavily insulting them. Is there no way to remove him? The forum is just to precious to say, "Oh well, everyone just leave". | ||

I'm really sorry but once we go down the route of removing admins that someone tells us are bad, then no admin will feel they are free to run their forum without fear of removal.
Sometimes you must simply create a new forum and let people vote with their feet. |

Just saying 'x is threatening y' doesn't really help, a link to the threats would at least be useful, but as Admin says this still doesn't guarantee action if the T&C have not been breeched. |
