This forum has copied a photograph from our forum.

When their admin was asked to remove it he has deleted my account and is posting objectionable statements about me on Chat.

Note to others reading. I do actually know Kaz well enough to trust that what she is saying is true.

Normally this sort of thing would be tricker, requiring more evidence of provenance of the photos. We get an awful lot of spurious allegations, and can't go around acting on them as a rule.

The photo was posted by my husband, Bodger when he was in America with his friend, Flatiron (father of the lad in the photo, Pissant).

I am asking them to reply on this thread, but they are claiming that the photo is not your property and that they have permission to post it.

In addition to what has been said by Kaz, the content of this forum is illegal, cruel and very graphic. The forum also promotes (or is sympathetic) illegal activies such as poaching, bowhunting, cockfighting and illegal trapping - there is even a photograph of a child being involved in the illegal netting of fish at night. The site is being looked at by the BASC legal department and has been reported to the wildlife crimes officer.

PS - F.A.O Admin. BASC and the police also asked me to contact you, the host. This is the only way I could find to do so so please feel free to edit or delete this.

If there is another way to keep you abreast of developments, please let me know.

There may be some difficulty as laymen in judging those points. But as you have not given links there is even less chance of giving those points consideration. We cannot read a whole forum!

Agreed, it is almost impossible to check every forum, but it is worth looking into this one considering two entirely different complaints have been made. With regard to links, take a look in the section called "BIG fury stuff" at Jacks shed - please note the photographs in "someone or other's" first fox. Then please read this link. Please note the paragraph "Are snares intended to kill" http://www.basc.org.uk/content/fox_snaring

If you look in the "Photographs" section, you will see their attitude towards the sick and illegal sport of cockfighting.

I have no agenda here, other than to try and prevent animal cruelty and to keep the name of field sports clean

Bodger has just spoken to his friend Von Strahan in New York State (5 hours minus time ) who he was staying with when he posted the picture on overthegate. It is on Von's photobucket. Von has confirmed exactly what we knew when we made this copywright complaint and that is that Fish aka Justin Sandford has specifically not got permission to use this picture. There is a reason why we know this to be the case and if required we can supply further information to support this.

I can only agree with Kaz. Most of the photographs on that forum are either dubious in their content or origin.

We encountered the subject of photograph copywrite on our forum a few months back. A member (now ex-member after we got rid of him) removed a photo of a person on a similar forum, which caused trouble, but said it was ok to do so because it had been posted in a public domain area and was not subject to copywrite. It may be "morally" wrong to cut and paste a photo (which doesn't display a legible copywrite sign)  from another site but is it actually an illegal act?

Is there a laymans legal guide of conduct to this issue?

also of note,jacksshed does not condone in ny way illegal activities or cruelty. cock fighting is illegal in this country and if for one minute i was sure it was going on i would report it myself ,the thread on it was posted by a member who spends one hell of a lot of time in the phillipines where it is perfectly legal. of note is that bull fighting goes on in spain,cruel too but would anyone object to holiday snaps from there? ime affraid the 2 complaintants on this thread have other motives and are in fact long term enemies who ,if i didnt have this forum would find some other way of digging at me. i have recieved plenty of harrasment on other forums from them,infact kaz's aforementioned husband was reprimanded for such on another reputable forum recently.
i do hope these frankly immature rantings and stirring will cease.

You do not need a (c) sign for something to be copyright. That is an old misconception.

 Justin , sorry to hear all this squabbling , to keep the peace from
