Http 500 error on private message page

We are getting a http 500 error when trying to access PMs.

http://audisrs.myfastforum.org (wonko)

Ok, looking into it.
myff admin

Sort of fixed I think, but there is something a bit weird going on. That error is not cropping up on the test system, and seems no good reason for it on yours.

It seems as if you can get on and reply from the messages. However I can't send a PM from the members list

You must give the (myfree/myfast/myfine)forum.org link/address of your forum. A link should be given to the problem if at all possible. Do this whether you think it is important or not. DO NO GIVE YOUR OWN DOMAIN LINK IT MUST BE THE NAME YOU CREATED HERE.

I am not clear on what you mean, there is not a send PM link in any of the member lists I can think of.

Hello,

I was notified earlier today that users of our forum, http://drgrabows.myfreeforum.org , were getting the http 500 error when trying to access or send PM's ( http://drgrabows.myfreeforum.org/privmsg.php?folder=inbox ). I am just now getting home and looking into it and it seems that the PM's are now coming through but there are no email notifications being sent for PM's or posts.

I also noticed this message at the bottom of the Private Message Inbox page: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/wonko/public_html/freeforums/includes/page_tail.php(84) : eval()'d code on line 1"

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer with this issue.

Sorry :- http://phoenix.myfunforum.org

On the members list which I tend to use when sending a PM's there is the facility to send a PM or email on the side of each email.

I got a PM this morning but unable to reply to it. Also (may be their end) but I have more than one of the same message in my in box. It does seem intermittent though. As I have just been able to sent the reply.

Seems OK for us now, thank you.

This is an error message I get when it won't send

Fatal error: Class 'Swift_Message' not found in /home/wonko/public_html/freeforums/includes/emailer.php on line 258

I spoke too soon.

After posting, we now get an http 500 error page (following hitting submit).

The 500 error is on this url:

http://audisrs.com/posting.php

The post does happen, just the error page afterwards.

Perhaps a separate issue but seems a coincidence.

I have for now removed the new system from wonko.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks sometimes it's hard to replicate  these things
myff admin

I have identified where the problem is, its a version issue. The test system is a bit ahead on php version.

Re: http://drgrabows.myfreeforum.org/privmsg.php?folder=inbox

Thank you. We started getting the email notifications again at some point this morning.

I, and other members,  still have the "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/wonko/public_html/freeforums/includes/page_tail.php(84) : eval()'d code on line 1" showing in the private message inbox but it doesn't seem to be affecting anything.

Thanks again.
myff admin

that should be fixed now.

I am poised for another attempt at this email change.

I'm putting this here at the end of this thread rather than start another thread covering the same issue.

I and most of my members are now getting the Error 500 every time we hit submit to post a reply.  Hitting the back button shows that the reply has actually been submitted.  This is what comes up when we press submit:

The free2chat.myfreeforum.org page isnít working

free2chat.myfreeforum.org is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
myff admin

Thanks for the report, I have rolled back again until I can figure this out.

Just to give you an update.  Since my previous post things have been working properly but the Error 500 has started to happen again.  The submit button gives the "free2chat.myfreeforum.org  is not working" screen but hitting the back button shows that the post has actually appeared.  It's happening to most of my members.
myff admin

thanks for the report, have rolled back again, most confusing.
Georgypan

Thanks.  Seems OK now.  Watch this space.
Georgypan

Sorry, me again.  The same problem except that the message we are getting now is:

"Expected response code 250/251/252 but got code "501", with message "501 5.1.3 Bad recipient address syntax "
myff admin

I have had a bash at sorting this, it looks like someone has a bad email address, throwing the system.

This is still happening I'm afraid.  It's really very annoying.  When you say it might be a bad email do you mean my members or something at your end?
myff admin

I will revert the code again.
I assumed as there was not further report of error it had stopped.

Didn't want to hassle you so I was giving you time.  I'll report back if it happens again.
