I would like for someone to search their name in Google and not come up with my site. Is there a way to hide a forum from the search engines?

Not really, not unless you make it so only registered members can see forum content.

why are you hiding your name. you can hide webpage from search engine but you can't hide any text from indexed webpage. If want that search engine don't index your text then use meta tags.
