hi i have been looking for about an hour or so and i just cant seem to find out how exactly to view or modify certain permissions of my ranks, i have found the user permission control but it just has the forum name on one side and the is moderator on the other, but nothing in between

there are tabs across the top but none of them populate and i cant seem to find something else that clickable on that page..

can you just give me the route,  admin panel or where thanks so much..

Ranks don't come with permissions.  Groups and users have permissions.

ok good to know thanks,  but can you tell me in that case how to get to the detailed permissions of each user, is that in admin panel user permissions, i was there a bit ago and none of the items at the top of that page would populate...

can you point me in the right direction and ill go do some more hunting please.

I don't remember phpb2 permissions, but check the howtodoit.  There are guides there.

Worth remembering that groups give "advanced" permissions of forum where permissions are not otherwise granted, but there are no "advanced" permissions per user. If you think that's complicated don't try phpbb3

ok thanks ill remember that, yeah that makes sense too, and so far im very happy with the software.   I would like to know if at some point i wanted to host this on the domain that i have established and run it on my own database, do you sell the software and is there a section in the forum for that so i can reference with that time comes.

phpbb2 itself is open source and the database can be exported (see the shop) and imported to official phpbb2 without much hassle.

You do lose the extras we have here (which are extensive) and we won't sell our software. But basically you are not "trapped" here, which is not always the case with free forum hosts.

thanks for the info, alot to think about, with every positive there is an countering neg, such is life... i can see there are tons of extras but one day might be a nice choice to own the data outright.  Thanks for your kind reply and great job!!
