Do not enter your own domain name it must be the actual myff link : johnnywalkers.myfastforum.org If you are asking a template related question, what is the name of the template: Please indicate keywords you have searched on: Now ask your question in clear English without "txt" speak>>>> when i search the names of the registered members of my forum on google, the google search results show contents of private posts including phone numbers and email addresses which should not be available to the general public. i made the forum private and gave access to members of a specific group to view and post. therefore, if you click my forum, you have to log in to view the threads and posts for this forum and only members in that specific group have access. however, when you google search the names of members, a portion of the contents of the private posts is shown. when you actually click the link from google search results, it directs you to a log in page. how can i keep google from showing any content from private posts? please help? |

I'd double check the permissions of the area seen by google. As this has never actually happened when permissions really are fully private.
Of course changing permissions does not alter what google has already seen and indexed. |

so initially, it was actually open to the public.. i was just getting to know the basic in's and out's of the forum. does that mean that since at one point it was not private, google saved it and indexed it forever and ever? |

so i went to your link and it talks about robot.txt and noindex meta tags (something about i need to edit source HTML on my page..) which is all greek to me. i tried erasing the post with contact info and recreated it in a separate private post (thinking since this post is private from the onset it won't be displayed in google search results.. it still displays it. is there anything else i can do? |

You should be able to contact google and get that information removed - they generally are pretty good about stuff like that.
But you will have to personally contact them and tell them what info and see if it can be done - if nothing else they may be able to clear the cache of your site completely. But... no guarantees. |

Is google viewing private messages ?
I saw this on my website today (attached file) If so how can it be stopped. ? thanks

They're not. If you view the pm section, regardless of whether you're logged in it'll show as "Viewing PMs". You can ignore it as google cannot view your private messages. |

All google can see is that which a guest member can see, as that is all the googlebot is, it's a guest. | ||

The google advert bot isn't even the google search bot. It doesn't catalog ANYTHING. It simply checks what is on the page to display ads that are relevant. Any page that has a google ad with have the google advert bot. It is NOTHING to worry about.
The page listed is simply what page is shown. Rather than saying "Private message menu" it says "reading private message" because that is what a user would be doing. |
