Free websiteAdmin,I was looking through a few old post from when MFF first started and i noticed on one post these words 'free web site development system'. I was wondering if this is still available |

That's referring to the portal system which can be used to develop a web site, just look at howtodoit! | ||||

but you cant exactly make a website out of the portal system as it only displays things from the forum! And all the stuff on how to do it is just telling you how to make the portal display forum stuff like catagory names | ||||

I've not looked at it yet, but I'm sure that the portal is fully customizable. You don't have to have the forum posts, links, etc. | ||||

The portal soon will be a full design system. Even now it does as much as some web site building systems. | ||||

You sort of can actually if you have a free site host with a crappy name, you can put all the files for download on there and add them to the linksmenu if ofcourse they're not illegal links. I'd still like to see a gallery incorparated, but I can wait a long time if need be for that. |

If you select private forums for the portal you can in effect have a web site different to the forum. |

So by making a forum pivate, it stays hidden, but by adding a link for people to click it would appear for them? Guess I'll have some more to try out |

If you log into your forum at either myfreeforum.org or myfastforum.org and go into general and look for the Private Forum tick box - tick it so it is ticjed (Obviously) and then people will have to register to post in your forum - Alternativly go into your forum administration panel and go to Forum Admin - Permissions. Choose the forum you wish to make private and click Private - Sumbit.
For all forums to be private repeat process on all forums. |
