I have been looking around and have seen some people with invision boards from what they say are free hosts but after doing even more indepth searches i have seen people asking if they are really free to which the answers have alway's been no so why are invision boards been offered for free is there some kind of catch behind there offers or are they really free?

This was my question and again i done more searches to find the same answers that they are not free, so my question is why are they been offered as free when infact there not?

This is common on the internet unfortunately. They seem to think that by saying something is free, when people find out that it isn't that they will pay for it anyway

Last year when I was looking for work, I found a free CV maker. I took the time to find one that was 'totally free'. I spent over an hour typing in details only to find that to make it printable I had to pay (I think it was £45). They'd also done something clever to it so I couldn't copy and paste everything I had written.

If one of them had been in front of me I would have gladly strangled them.

myfreeforum is NOT really free we are advert supported,

our pet charity project downsizer.net is genuinely free, and we do some really free work for some deserving causes via downsizer.net We' re nice like that

But even there if approached for free work on the whole the typical answer is no. In the real world people have to somehow make a living.

I started an invision board just to see what they are like and although i like some of there features i think they are to complicated for me and PHBB are far better and + it wasn't the same as it is here so i will agree with Admin there is no free forum hosts out there that offer the same kind of services as here and i bet if you said to everyone try MFF out for 1 week at least 3 quaters of those people would stick with an MFF forum.

All the sites i saw try to offer things like cash mod, jobs and other things but none of them offered any kind of support we get here, and even some of there directories was not up to date with forums that had been started months ago still recorded as having only the site admin as there only registered member yet when i visited the sites there was over 300 members etc even some i tryed to visit had been closed and not even removed from there directories.

I came across one forum host that looked interesting and i made a forum with them to see what it was like and to be honest it was crap lol, i can't remember which host it was with but all i can say is i will only have a forum with MFF and trust me when i say MFF is the best free forum hosts on the net to day and will more than likely remain as at the top for as long as they are around which i hope is forever.
