Forum Portal Help

Hello,

I having a problem adding different portals to my forum? I was able to add the dual portal code to my forum, but I am having trouble adding different portals? I know I go to Styles then select Portal Settings and I see all different portal options. How do I add portals to my forum. Thank you.

if you look at the guide, the part you add to your overall_header.tpl should be like this:

Code:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">
  <tr>
    <td width="125" align="left" valign="top">
<!-- BEGIN switch_forum_view -->
<table><tr>
<td valign="top">
{MYFF.ANNOUNCE show_results="topics" link="FORUM"}{MYFF.STICKY show_results="topics" link="FORUM"}{MYFF.TOPPOSTERS}
</td></table>
<!-- END switch_forum_view -->
</td>
    <td valign="top" align="center">

Now what you need to focus on is this part:

Code:
{MYFF.ANNOUNCE show_results="topics" link="FORUM"}{MYFF.STICKY show_results="topics" link="FORUM"}{MYFF.TOPPOSTERS}

Those are the macros for each of the three portals that the guide shows, I've compiled a list, that isn't quite up to date: http://portalogy.myfastforum.org/forum2.php

Now if you look at the current time portal: http://portalogy.myfastforum.org/Current_Time_about36.html

it will show you the macro you need to place in the template, to get it to show on your forum

Thank you for the help.

I am having trouble with the {NAVBARLIST} it is not showing.

You must give the (myfree/myfast/myfine)forum.org link/address of your forum. A link should be given to the problem if at all possible. Do this whether you think it is important or not. DO NO GIVE YOUR OWN DOMAIN LINK IT MUST BE THE NAME YOU CREATED HERE.

Plus what web pages have you on your system, are they set to be in the NAVBAR?

How do I get some to be set for the {NAVBARLIST} and how do I get the {LOGIN} to work, that is not showing up?

The portal macros need to have the myff part, so for the login to show you should use {MYFF.LOGIN}

I have used {MYFF.LOGIN} it does not work.

That page you link to is this file: cms_index_body.tpl

in there is the structure for the portal page, allowing you to swap in and out portal components, while the forums method stays as it is in the guide
