do i have to do my own code iframe whichever, its a php site but html will work fine.. either or..
or do you have a widget already worked up.

You could map forums.yourdomain.com with your DNS and then post in here to get your forum mapped to forums.yourdomain.com. Then people can just use forum.yourdomain.com to reach your forums, seeming like the same site.

i found the solution i think...well after trying to decide between embed vrs object vrs iframe i went with iframe..
here is the code... is this cool with with everyone i hope, any special security measures i need to implement in the code or anything i need to consider, it seems to work just fine..
<iframe src="http://goldwingsingles.myfastforum.org" width="800" Height="600"></iframe>
just that simple

A forum will not be able to interact with another database.

That is one way you can do it... although the problem is that it's limited in size. I personally have a resolution MUCH larger than that, so I would have a lot of empty space around it. You could do height and width at 100% but 100% does not work with firefox for height.
I would suggest simply putting the forums.yourdomain.com and have a template match between your forum and your website.

followup on linkingis mapping the only way to accomplish the visual impression that its only accessible from my site..
i know u use a u-index and an L index that you use for the link display at the topand bottom of each section to let the user know where they are at, thats the part im refering to, rather than remove those entirely i would rather it just show
goldwingsingles forum instead of goldwingsingles.myfastforum.org as the home link on the page, before the page categories..
is mapping the only way... i really dont want to have to puchase another domain but i will if i need to..
i have goldwingsingles.com domain, can you map to a subfolder on that dns on the site...
my whole purpose for wanting this is that "i know" it will allways be accessible by typing in
goldwingsingles.myfastforum.org but i dont want my members to know that, reason being when they tell their friends then their friends have to sign up to my site to access this forum and thats what i want, im tring to build membership so if they think they can only access thru the site because of how the links diplay on the page then they have to join my website to see it, and then one day i will get it totally mapped so its correct, but for now whats the best solution to have it appear on the page as
goldwingsingles forum --> whatever category your in... rather than
goldwingsingles.myfastforum.org --> whatever categoy your in
thanks

If you have a domain then we can map a subdomain:
e.g.
forum.goldwingsingles.com
can be the forum. All you need to do is create the DNS entries so that the subdomain gets to the server your forum is on, and then ask us to map it.

sub domainok i now have the subdomain
forum.goldwingsingles.com
do i need to redirect it on my side to
goldwingsingles.myfastforum.org
or should i just go ahead and post this in the map request forum..
|
admin (no pm's please)
|
Do not redirect.
You should update the domains nameservers, so that the forum link actually really goes direct to our servers.

But in your case it will depend on the domain registrar.

please provide the exact A record you would like to have setup for your subdomain.

thanks i so need some sleep, appreciate that...

mapok please try it http://www.forum.goldwingsingles.com/
does that screen mean that propagation has not happened yet..
|

that means it is correctly mapped to your server, now the Admin just has to map the forum to your domain and it'll be ready.
Still needs up to 48 hours for propagation though.
