dual portals. {Firefox Problem Fixed Update}

I have made my http://bands.myfastforum.org/index.php a dual portal (Nick im calling it this, to your definittion it be sub-semi portal, im staying with this Wink)
I had to add the right part in the index body exactly in the right place and use some sence has i had to add some </> type codes as it conflicted with the who is online. To my current knowledge its a first and still be a usuable forum. link is http://bands.myfastforum.org/index.php and scroll to the right and youll see it. I will be adding more but this project is over for tonight. A nice 1 hour project
The hard part was making the switch codes go to the right whitch i had to consult my html site for some html. i will post the final result of it later. Tell me what you think.

Seems easy but it took me a while to get perfect. I had to add it above the who is online part in the indexbody. I used it on the MgGrey template and no guarentee it will work on all tempaltes. You might have to spend an hour editing it like me to get it perfect.

NOTE:It stretches the who is online part some. Will fix hopefully.

looks like you need the odd valign="top" in some td tags!


I hate to rock the boat on naming, but I don't like the terminology we are getting into

I think we have:

Portal View - the www. view

But then we need good terms for two and 3 column forum layouts using portal components. There is nothing really "sub" about them We have had this terminology issue before, people started calling the owner control panel the "forum footer" and that has come back to bite us.

Im calling it dual portal. I needed the table codes as well it wouldnt work with out them. It aligned it self in the center so i had to add some to put it in the top. When i wake up ill change it but it works for now, least through internet explorer.

Okay then, any other better names for it? shouldnt the creator get to name it

Oh where do I start, Cody you have more than enough room to put the right hand portals on the left, but if you want them on the right fair play.

If you can wait, I'll get a table setup and post an image to guide you where to put things, to help you setup the portals either side the forum.

I should be able to get this done by sunday.

my portal i tried addin like yours didn't work i added it in overall_header.tpl and it made it soi both sides of the portal is above the orginal thingy where you post here look http://techland.myfreeforum.org

the right portals are in the index body as if you put them in the overall header it will conflict with the one on the left. You havr to put the code in the exact place or it wont work.

Though the code is centered in firefox. I really cant figure out how to fix that right now. Since the portal system didnt have right portals in mind when it was created it is going to look a little weird.

im try to fix the code to prevent the who is online part from expanding. So this code is BETA.

ok im not to worried about that because im makeing mine so it comes so it wouldn't look all to bad with it being expanded

I have fixed it for the Digital Dementia Template. You have to put it at the end of the Indes_body.tpl.
