That happened to my aunt.

The only thing that seems a little fishy is that you don't have to wipe the hard drive because of a motherboard failure. So all files that were on the hard drive should stay intact.

He said that the info might stay but im not making any promices, and I've had to call out another engineer because the fan, STAYS ON!!! Even when you turn the pc off! To get the fan off you have to disconnect the dam power supply!! But i've just bought a 160gb hardrive, which says on my screen that its only 149gb big!! God

i have the same problem just my optical mouse stays on. You should have a main power switch in the back of the computer you could switch off, or if you have it on a surge protector turn it off. Never heard of a 160 GB hard drive mines 80 GB and that was the biggest one they had at the store. Same situation the lady said my computer is 512 MB but its 480 MB but i have like 32 MB Shared memory whatever that is.

All HD's are the same. My 250GB one only had 220GB free when I first got it.
Mike

This is dam right false advertising. Anyway i've demanded an engineer to come out, again, and they said we've booked one but phone us Wednesday to see if we have the part in stock. The new HD is nice and shiny and the silver bit feels really nice lol.

I think it is down to your operating system. That takes up some space. Although I'm not 100% sure.
