Well I worked in Barcelona for three months and used to watch Barceloneta playing (the kids were bloomin fantastic btw)...they are my favourite Euro team.
I like Villa, and I like Spurs...if Villa or Spurs played, say, Huddersfield, should I cheer on Huddersfield just cos they are closer to home? Nah
Barcelona for me.
First half a good game, Valdez looking dodgy, Ronaldo looking like he is in someones pocket....brilliant strike from Scholes, looked like the old him where he was always a danger in that part of the field.
Still think (hope) Barca can do it....

as a United supporter, we only take note of other United supporter's views on our team.
the beckham world cup incident years ago when the country went against him unified us.
we dont need support from 'other' supporters thank you very much

Anyone watch the Madrid game tonight? Incredible!
5 minutes left, they're losing 1-0 which means they couldn't win the title tonight. Yet they score twice in that time and win the league right there.
Now Barca have to form the guard of honor on Wednesday.

Simply put we the English fans showed our disgust at a player that was wearing our nation shirt, had nothing to do with which club he played for.
He acted a pratt and cost us the game,,, if someone from my club did it i would still have done the same.
And you only listen to other man u fans ??? you can speak thi ?

yep.
it was a perfectly good goal and should have stood.
back to Beckham, the nation of England 'fans' instantly forgot what he done for us previously, the moment he got sent off.
thats when the seige mentality came about.
club over country anyday. Thats why we welcomed back Rinaldo when the nation wanted his head.

He was a key player in a key game and he got petulant kicking another player, getting sent off for a mistimed tackle is one thing, getting sent off for pure aggression is another.
We had a real chance of achieving something then, and his foolish moment of idiocy threw everything that the team had worked for up to that point away. So a hero he was not.
Man Utd have always worn rose tinted spectacles at every match they ever see if it concerns them or their players, that aint gonna change now. I have yet to meet a Man U fan (and I personally have known quite a few over the years) that has the ability to see the truth about anything relating to their club.

Wasn't really pure aggression was it?

I think bravo was implying what beckham did was a deliberate act of aggression/frustration

What I meant was he kicked out petulantly when there was no need to. He is a professional footballer, so one would imagine he'd been tackled before, so this was a loss of control on his part...it's perfectly human to lose control now and then, but painting him as a hero is just ludicrous. If he had been a player for my team I'd have said exactly the same, poor professionalism is poor professionalism regardless of who the player plays for.

dont get me wrong, im not painting him as a hero. he did kick out in a moment of frustration and got punished by the ref.
what im trying to say is that the nation turned on him for that action and booed him months after in league games.
they forgot about the brilliant football he had played to help us get that far and just remembered him for the sending off.
just one of the reasons i dont give a stuff for the national team
