change of forum address 'hackers'http://hippiesinhaightashbury.myfreeforum.org/
I would like to change the name of my forum. Someone had posted a link in a post and unfortunately, we did not have the forum secured properly and now we have 'hackers' coming to the forum. Can you please let me know if we can change the address without incident to all current content? Thank you.

When you change the domain, the old one still might go to the new domain.
What 'hackers' do you have visiting?

There was a link posted in our forum to a forum some of the posters used to post on. The admin and they, at the other forum, became at odds. The admin from the old forum has posted the link to this forum at his forum and they are all trying to view the threads on this forum. From my understanding, the other admin had posted personal home addresses and the like on various blogs on the net. We would like to try and avoid this situation.
They can see the cached version of Oct 30 there are holes they are getting in.
One of the other admin/mods has screenshots of the situation. Right now we need to change the address or delete the forum. What do you suggest?

I'm not sure, you're still rather vague with your descriptions.
Your forum gave a link to forum a. Forum a isn't happy anymore with the users of your forum, so they posted a link to your forum.
Admin of forum a has posted personal home addresses on blogs, and you don't want that Admin to post personal information of your users?
The cached version I assume you mean the google cache...
As far as I can tell from all this... you should be contacting whoever hosts the blog and other forum to get the personal information removed if it is yours, or at least notify them that it is there.
The Google Cache can't easily be changed, but you can restrict guest access which includes unregistered users and bots.
And if you are going against people that are just trying to make your forum into trouble then changing the name won't help (you'll also confuse your own members). But since they are real people, changing the forum name or creating a new forum wouldn't help much - because the trouble makers would find the new site just as well as your old members.

Thank you Nick and Zudane. There is a forum on the net that is sole purpose is to disrupt other forums with what they call lulz. They spend all their time in creating havoc on the net. One of our posters posted the link to this forum on our forum. One of our members clicked on this link and with the help of a stat counter this other forum found their way back to us.
Our forum is for registered users only and all of our forums, sub forums are permissioned in that way. The problem is that they did find a way to access some of our posts. I signed off, cleared my cookies and was able to access posts in a registered thread myself.
This is what concerns me.
I have screenshots of the areas of entry although I am hesitant to post them here as for security concerns with your other forums. I do not want to advertise the vulnerable areas of entry to a locked forum.
We will delete all of our members and leave the forum inactive. We would like to build another forum although now these areas I have found that are accessible to guests concern me.
Please let me know if I am able to pm you with the specific areas they were able to gain entry.
Again thank you for your help. The support here at myfreeforum is second to none. I hope to resolve these security issues so that we may continue on.
