I followed howtodoit's tutorial on the cash mod here and

1. There was no "forum list" section
and
2. It did work out successfully but now underneath the "Bank" section in the "view topic" there is always a number there equal to how much money the user has.

We need a link to the problem so we can see it ourselves.  The screenshot does show what you mean, but we can't look at what the problem is, we can only guess.

Make a forum guest viewable with at least one post that has this problem with it, and post a link to the topic.  It's much easier for us to help you if you help us.

If you are seeing a number twice it usually means you have it both on auto display in the profile field definition and have also manually aded it to the viewtopic_body.tpl template.
