Auto-PM When Post Madehttp://narutorpcenter.myfastforum.org
Hi,
I was wondering if it were possible to have an Auto PM be sent to a user whenever "X" topic is replied to by anyone. So basically whenever a post is made on a topic being "Watch" an auto PM is sent to the user with a link to the post, the contents of the post, and a reply button to automatically put them in the topic reply screen.
Any way to make this happen?
Thanks,
Lava

I don't see much reason to make it an auto-PM, since you CAN subscribe/watch a topic/forum and receive an e-mail when there are updates.
I can only see that the auto-PM would be useful when the user is already on the forum. The e-mail gives the link to the forum and the user does not need to be on the forum to receive notification.

Many users rarely check emails, plus it is easier, due to the nature of our forum, to receive the popup PM indicator each time a post is made in a topic you are in. This is because I run a RP site, where users "text roleplay" their characters in our fantasy world and have battles, etc. So the other person(s) they are interacting with might make multiple posts quickly and in multiple different topics, so it makes it easy.

Any help?

Sorry but this will not be done. Emails make sense as it makes someone visit a forum, and if they are concerned about topic notifications they can check their emails.
I have never ever heard of a forum that fills its database up by PMs in that fashion.
