After 4 and a half years.. The computers getting written offWell. I've had my lovely eMachines 270 desktop for over four and a half years now.. But tomorow, its getting taken by 'them' - For good
My first computer ever is going forever, we've been threw everything. Well, its not really the same computer.
Everything but the case has been replaced lmao.
In the past 2 months its kept turning its self off randomly, 4 engineers sent out, new parts i've fitted but nothings fixed it.
So after around £20 in calls - They've finalled agreed to get it written off. Which means its going away, forever. And there sending me vouchers of around £450 for a new PC/Laptop!!
Lucky as the insurance on it expires in Feb 08!
Its getting taken Friday morning, but I get to keep the monitor, mouse and keyboard!
On the laptop now..
ByeBye PC.
HELLO LAPTOP!!

I love my Laptop, though my first computer I had at least for 7 years. With Windows 95 and a slow processor. It so old it didn't have RAM but SIM memory, I finally go rid of it last week.

The insurance back in the old days was £175 for five years, unlimited fixes/repairs.
I've had
- 2 new motherboards
- 1 disc laser thing replacement
- 2 or 3 new power supplys.
- 1 new hard drive.
- 3 new mouse's
- 1 new keyboard
- 1 set of power speakers
- 6 engineer call outs.
Would of costed like £400 in total, inc engineer call outs.
Made about £625 profit, nice stuff.

Well I was like 10 exactly I think when I got it, new little about computers.
But now four years later I know loads, well enough to get a good machine.
The PC got taken by courier at 9:25am today.. So im expecting my vouchers in a week. According to what the guy on the phone said.

Build your own computer rather than getting a laptop.
You could get a decent rig for £450, seeing as you have Monitor, mouse, keyboard already.
