Adding banner image to the top of the page

http://carvoeirochitchat.myfastforum.org/index.php

Searched for Banner ... only found Side Banner

On my other forum: http://hisaronutheforum.myfastforum.org/index.php I have placed an image at the top of the page, I did this a long time ago and can't remember how it was done. I have looked though my old posts but can't find any reference to it.

Can you direct me to where I can do this again on my new forum?

Thanks.
Bravo

On your old forum, you did it the same way as you did with your new forum. The only difference is the templates. Different templates have different locations (and sizes) for the logo. If you want yours to be more central the same way as your old forum you'll have to select a suitable template, there are plenty to choose from.

It is possible to have multiple logos etc, but that requires more advanced knowledge of html etc which is an option for more advanced forum owners but we don't run html courses here, merely make the option available for advanced users. Of course our more knowledgeable moderators can and do help but not from scratch. There is reading available on howtodoit though to get you started.

However in your case I think it is just a template change you're looking for.

Since it`s nearly xmas here is your answer...

Goto to OVERHEADER.TPL

Find the code that will look something like this

Code:
   <tr>
            <td><a href="{U_INDEX}"><img src="templates/myfu_symon1/images/logo_phpBB.gif" border="0" alt="{L_INDEX}" vspace="1" /></a></td>
            <td align="center" width="100%" valign="middle"><span class="maintitle">{SITENAME}</span><br /><span class="gen">{SITE_DESCRIPTION}<br />&nbsp; </span>

Replace with (remember to change the path to your image with your own one so here mine says "templates/myfu_symon1/images/logo_phpbb.gif, cahnge it too your template .)

Code:
<tr>
            <td align="center"><a href="{U_INDEX}"><img src="templates/myfu_symon1/images/logo_phpBB.gif" border="0" alt="{L_INDEX}" vspace="1" /></a></td></tr>
            <tr><td align="center" width="100%" valign="middle"><span class="maintitle">{SITENAME}</span><br /><span class="gen">{SITE_DESCRIPTION}<br />&nbsp; </span>

What we have done there is add a
Code:
 <tr>
to make the image on its own line, then by adding
Code:
<td align="center">
it has made it central .   Now upload the image you want and change the path in the code to your new image.

Thank you.

I will try this when I have the time . . . and the brain power to pull it off.

Merry Christmas.

Sorry about the delay in reporting back.

It finally worked . . .  and I still don't know how I did it!
