A helpful Suggestion!I have a few suggestions...
Adverts
I see MyFF as one of the best phpbb hosts avaliable! But the Ads don't work well. I consider myself a forum expert. I made my first 6 years ago when I was 9 years old. In all of my experience I have never seen worse placement of ads. Google ads when correctly placed on a forum can bring loads of revenue to host due to a few reasons. Moving the ads to the top of the forum index, and top & bottom of the THREAD VIEW, not the last post, near the copyright, will atract more users of the host, offering more revenue from the advertiser. Also please try to keep ads simple but effective.
Bigger User Base
You have got to try to find more users! I suggest advertising on an active high class site such as ForumAdvertiser or ForumPromotion. If you would like I could advertise for you.
MODS & Software!
One thing a person that is new host looks for is Modifications! I know MyFF has a load of skins to choose from but what it lacks is a selection of pre-installed mods. That was one of the features I looked for when I first used MyFF last summer.
Also, new users look for software availability! You should try offering other software hosting aswell as PhpBB 2 & 3! You could try adding a MyBB server, & An SMF server. It may bring in a whole new crowd of users. I am very familair with both softwares, I will help if needed.
That is about all I can think of for now. I will stick around, I will be starting a new site soon, it would be great to see some of these implemented!
Thanks!

But what about the ads, and other software avaliability
I could name a few hosts with more mods
I like using MyFF but ads make a site look bad

Ad placement is also about not annoying the users, of course we could make more money by placing adverts more intrusively.
As for other software, we do phpbb2 and phpbb3 and do them well. Doing a load more things, but doing them all relatively poorly is not an attractive option.

If you just move the ads slightly you will gain more users.
For Example, look at the ad placement this NOW billion dollar company has. I really enjoy it

Top of Index, bottom of page in thread view.
And sorry for questioning your work
Just a few slight adjustments wouldn't hurt
by the way, if it is alright with you, I will advertise a bit for you, help you out a bit. I am very popular amoungst advertising communities.

How can moving ads to make them more intrusive actually gain users? That really is contradictory. There is an argument that adverts can be placed more effectively without overly annoying people more, but you don't "gain" users with adverts.
We welcome anyone talking about our services elsewhere, as all links obviously do help

I meant moving them near the copyright rather than in the last post...

I really doubt that many people, having read the last post, will then go down to read the copyright notice at the bottom of every page too.
Youth and enthusiasm are wonderful things - but age and experience can be very handy things to have as well.

Well not below the last post I don't, I'm usually looking for an index link or one to the next page of the thread, as I'm sure 99.9% of other people do

Honestly, and I don't mean to sound rude... you stated that you're 15.. and the Admin here is MUCH older than that, and has PLENTY of experience. While the ads could be moved or changed to bring in more revenue, they are very well placed to be unobtrusive.
This means the site is more about the user, not profit - THAT is what draws in users.
And this site does have a ton of mods installed. The MYFF system is wonderful! Given the opportunity to run my own phpbb forum, I think I'd rather pay for an ad-free site on here - which I currently do.

Oh lookie Zudane, the guy that destroyed my first site here. "GotBoredom"
I am saying they are too obtrusive, lowering them so that they are not between the last posters signature and there post would be much much more conveintiant.
Sorry for making a few suggestions....

I find all ads obtrusive, really. But as far as a lot of sites go, the ones here are rather out of the way. The bar at the top is normal. And the ad in the last post is a great idea. it only gets in the way of a single post on the thread, and it is the one that is most likely to be seen - people will repeatedly read the last post on a thread (since it always changes). if it was on the first post then it would be seen once or twice, and nothing more.

If I can just throw in my two cents, I don't have any problem with ads in that area. It doesn't bother me and it's highly unlikely that removing them would bring in many more users. Pretty trivial, if you ask me.
