We're really sorry, but due to datacenter temperature issues beyond our control Last.fm is currently offline.
Please bear with us as we scramble to catch overheating DC/AC inverters... stay tuned, we'll be restoring regular service as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience. |
And a graph here

Basically a cooling device that cools Ac/Dc inverters messed up taking the others down with it. I heard of hackers, HDD crashes, and other oddities but this taking down a server? New one for me.... _________________ "Great minds talk about ideas, mediocre minds talk about current events, small minds talk about other peoples"

Actually temperature is an easy way to ruin a computer, and a lot of people don't realize it. Laptops do this often because people put it on something that blocks the air vents and doesn't let air flow through (laptops do bad on pillows, beds, and carpeting - get a cooler to put under it). People also have this problem when placing a computer tower in a tucked away spot that doesn't allow circulation to cool it off.
Most data centers, because of the amount of machinery and how fast it can heat up, keeps the temperature down in the 60's, which means it's a cool (and dry) room for the systems to run better.
