For an excellent guide to using your myfreeforum forum, you can visit howtodoit
The howtodoit "readonly" forum provides answers and walkthroughs for all common questions.
This is where you will find basic portal support along with some advanced code that is currently undergoing some testing and tweaking before it's gets any approval from Myff, there will be all the available portals listed as well and also walkthroughs on how to implement them.
Yes it's a little bare at the moment, but it will be getting filled up on friday.
Admin, Symon and Viper I'd appreciate it if you guys could take the time(admin(s) or mod(s), which ever you feel comfortable with. )

I've setup a hide/show code with the portals, take a look, I will be tweaking this and when I'm finished the code will come your way. _________________ CALM TIME: When calm time is called, all posters in a topic must take time out to calm down.

Nick I joined and I propose that we link exchnage. I wont take off my portal section so that I can create portals, tweak them to where I think they will at least be in beta and then send them to you. We will stick mainly to javascript though. What do you say? _________________ The Force United
That is why I said I would not quit testing the portals, but if they are to be accepted by MYFF and possibly made into a default portal component I would like them to be accepted by Nick and looked over for any errors. This way before releasing much to the public, here on the support forum, it is tested by three or four people that know what they are doing. _________________ The Force United
The only practical difference between an official preinstalled component and a user component, is that the user ones require a few more lines typed into the options tab, giving a few things like the base component and sensible default values. _________________ Family Friendly Shareware | | Web Design/Services | Free Forums
I know but there are some very lazy people so I figured that you may want to make things easier and implement portal components into the main system. _________________ The Force United

Link Exchange will happen on friday, I don't expect you to drop your portal section, but I would appreciate it if you could change it's permissions to moderators, so that standard members don't see whats going on, that way you and blake can continue to improve the codes to the point where you feel happy forwarding it to me, the last thing you want is someone copying some of the code and getting it wrong, because you'll end up having to sort things out for them, when your barely finished tweaking the code. _________________ CALM TIME: When calm time is called, all posters in a topic must take time out to calm down.

There is a balance to be had though, as official components imply more official support, and that is not a good idea with complex components that I myself may not fully understand. _________________ Family Friendly Shareware | | Web Design/Services | Free Forums
You have a point. Most of the guides that we have created are step by step on how to do it, including creating your own template files for your portal. If you would like to view them admin then visit the site, I would like feedback from you. _________________ The Force United

A current time, using Java so it shows the users time no matter where they are and whether their logged in or not.
Also a calendar, which was god awful color wise, but will get a going over in the next few days, so it color codes to a forums template. _________________ CALM TIME: When calm time is called, all posters in a topic must take time out to calm down.
