I have changed the search portal to remove the "Show replies" option, but add the more extensive options that phpbb3 offers. e.g.


Post subjects and message text
Message text only
Topic titles only
First post of topics only

Well, Just went to use it.. and they don't work :x

Whatever is marked for the new "what to search" option makes no difference on the outcome.

The page is also limited to 10, regardless what the number is set to (unless it's set to under 10).

And lastly, a problem with all the search portals... the links don't open the thread, the links just lead to the same page that is loaded.

Example:  http://harsh-reality.net/revenaqua.html

Only shows 10, did a normal search and came up with 28 posts in the same forum that the portal is searching.

Current settings: count is 100, time is 500, author is revenaqua (duh), what to search is first topic only, Filtered to search forum 35 (showcase) only.

I have put a couple of fixes in.

CONTENT links are now actually disabled, seems the content portal has not yet been done for phpBB3.

You do have to watch for caching, search portals are cached for 3 minutes.

One other thing I wanted to ask, is there a way to change the search author inline?

I know we can do it with some things such as the count, but can it be changed so we can do like...

Oh, there is one other thing I did want to ask...

Can you add in characters returned?  The advanced has the dropdown menu for "return first".

If you check the edit, the inline thing is working >_>  I just had it added inline and in the portal settings, so it canceled it out and broke it.  if it's only one listed it works.

The return characters options are there, the option is called "ch" if you want to pass it manually.

=( I'd love to say it works.  And with the problems here I can only guess this isn't as simple as it looks.

Return characters does nothing though.  Set to 0, 25, 50, or all available all give the same result:

Just over 400 characters show up.

Had a bit of a hang-up on this... after a few pages were loaded it would freeze up.  Not sure if this was the search flood limit or the cache limit, but I disabled both and it works great.
