Hello,

This forum is a resource for information which aids prospectors particularly in the state of Nevada. It also is of interest to those who live outside the state and also enjoy the hobby of gold nugget detecting. One recent example of the useful information we provide would be our comparison test between two popular metal detectors. This test can be viewed at the top of our sticky area in the NV Nugget Hunters Board.

The forum was begun in late July of last year and is now approximately one year old. You may view the hits received on the site by viewing the Clustermap link plug-in at the bottom of the homepage. It has received 176,687 hits during the past year from locations around the globe.

We try to provide content that is useful, interesting, and entertaining to gold prospectors and metal detectorists. We have an extensive "Historic Mining & Prospecting Tidbits" section which is quite a work in and of itself. It presents historical mining operation reports for states throughout the Western U.S.

Other useful knowledge we have given out freely includes maps to areas recently burned within gold producing areas of Nevada, detecting video links, gold galleries, etc. In addition, we post mapping information regarding various tools such as USGS's online geoCommunicator, which is a tool used to assist in prospecting claims research. We also feature a "Rocks & Gems" area for those who are interested in the closely related topic of collecting non-gold related minerals. Lastly, but of course not least, we also have provided a place for people to share quite a few tips regarding theri own wealth of information about where to go to find gold in the state of Nevada.
