Its me again ...

I want to add a series of world clocks, similar to:

look at the clocks on the right hand portal

Is this a ready made portal addon? or one I build myself, linking to other 'clock' sites.

Seraching under world clock returns nothing, clock returns normal clocks.

I guess I could add a series of clocks with time modyfiers for each section ?

Regards

Paul

Code:
{MYFF.CURRENTTIME}

I will experiment using this, and see if adding time modifiers works

heading in right direction?

Ok, had a closer look, getting something going here using the same iframe links from World clock place

I will work out the HTML to get it looking ok, then see about adding it into the portal.

Hope this is ok, keeping this thread updated as I work things out, say if it isnt .

At least i finding out for myself!

However, I think I will need help to get the same look as the other parts of the portal, like the current time, and anouncement parts of the portal. Any pointers for that part please ?

Regards

Paul

Progress so far

hi Symon

Ok, I am getting the clock to show ok, but then realise that as I use a different style, I need it to match that, and have been unable to work out how to embed style bits into the table if I change style components, I dont want to have to go edit the table everytime.

Please could I have a look at your code, I still want to try and do this myself, but it isnt working too well, and I need help/pointers

Thanks

Paul

Now you need to make a free account with them, then you can make your own styles.

Well, I wasnt too far out on the basic code, I sorted links to that clock site, and made a table with iframes and title in each row, but was way out on the table format. I just couldnt get it right.

Also, the class='xxxxx' I assume is the pointer to the style component, which was the bit I had no idea whatsoever about!

I have copied your clock onto the bottom of my portal, and it looks exactly like the rest of it (supprise) so I will try adding the class bits etc to my own version, then delete yours. Yes, I know I could leave yours there, but what would I learn then!

Thanks for the help.

Paul

to change the colour of the clocks you will need to sign up for a free account, you then get to choice your style and colours etc.

Sorted!

Added some of your code into mine, to give the right appeqarance, made the clocks for the timezones I wanted, and took your idea of linking the zone info to Wiki. I am happy with it now, and its so easy to add extra zones in when the guys finally get around to giving me the right locations!

Thanks for your help

Paul
