Yes, and also make sure to advertise in forums that are similar to yours.
For example, you run a writing forum, advertise it on another writing and/or creativity forum.

For example, you run a writing forum, advertise it on another writing and/or creativity forum.[/quote] I have tried to advertise in other forums like mine and I have been quickly frowned upon.

I have a motorsport forum and I'm starting to try the following: Print flyers to hand out at events I attend Send an link request to motorsports clubs Placed an advert video on youtube CARS AND MOTORSPORT YOUTUBE ADVERT and got a new member from it the other day. Send a message to youtube posters that post motorsport videos of their own events _________________ carsandmotorsport

Sorry Haven't been here in awhile, Had to re-register. has I forgot what my old account was. One thing I have noticed, do not just advertise in the same forum that is similar to yours, expand around, let's your forum is about cars, don't just go to a cars forum, as they are already are in a Cars forum, so they may not want to go to your forum. If you go to a Sports or Entertainment forum, for example, then if that forum allows you to, then you can advertise your site, as there may be members there that also enjoy Cars, and will register, has it will be something different.
