These instructions must be followed if you want live ecommerce.

Firstly you need to use the guides that will be available to create a working version of your shop that uses the default versions of the shop script "nopcart.js" and the shop template "cms_shop.tpl".

In other words all you should be editing at this stage is the portal settings for your shop.

If you cannot get payment processing to work with the default templates and portal options, then you should use the support forum and we will try and improve the default scripts and templates to resolve your issues.

Once you have a working version of the template, you will need to take the following steps.

1) Edit the cms_shop.tpl in the template editor and change <script src="/shop/nopcart.js" ></script> to <script src="/mycart.js" ></script>

2) Use the web page editor to copy the current "/shop/nopcart.js" to mycart.js.

By taking these steps you will ensure that further changes made to templates and scripts do not effect your live shop. We will make our best efforts to ensure that changes at the portal level do not effect compatibility.

Note all the usual disclaimers! e.g. Even if we mess up, you are using the shop at your own risk, we accept no liability at all.

If you had such a template already then you will need to change your existing portal names and revert the cms_shop.tpl in the template editor.
If you don't do this, then you will not get a shop showing.

Now there is a questions, currently you would just load:

http://forum.myfreeforum.org/shop/nopcart.js

But this will change shortly. I have noted that if you create two shops then the use of "shop" in the path creates more work as the new shop template will mangle that path to its own name

http://facebookappchat.co.uk/mycart.js

is not finding a file.

and I do not see mycart.js in the web pages for your forum.

Remember you only need to create this file if you are running a live shop and are worried about regressions, or if you need to tweak the shop at this level.

Ok i added the .js to the main template rather than to a webpage and all seems to be working now.
