bdsmhouse.myfreeforum.org
mydelfault copied from silver
transparent, background, advanced template editing

Searched through quiet a bit in forums but saw nothing like this. Although im applying to this template it applies to all templates. I wish to make the background for entire forum transparent so the forum shows through to my own site background.

That is a rather non trivial question, and I'm not too sure about trying to sort a complex question out on a forum with no posts, bdsm in the title that by the seems of it you intend to layer over another site that you do not mention.

The forum is used inside of an iframe target @ www.bdsmhouse.net (I know the name sounds...odd, but youll see why it got shortend up on the url register) the forum link is working on site if youd like to check it out. Bare in mind this is a new site and i am learning everything (from linux to servers and programmings) all at the same time. lol

edit:
This site, although "live" is not being presented to the intended targtets yet. Only to a select few helping me test and troubleshoot the site.

http://www.ozzu.com/website-desig...ransparent-background-t36550.html

shows things to be doable but somewhat complex.

I see you have already placed with the body tag style in the css.

I've noticed when adding other "sites" (see Geek Beat in links) that I either have to remove all background image/color tages in the main body of the page (outside all table/frame deliniators) or add the transparent section to it rather than the iframe itself inside my own site ( I did add just to test the post you mentioned though). I guess i am just not seeing a main_body page option that houses the entire forum or the exact direct edit for the css style sheet where i can change manually.

the main body so to speak is in overall_header.tpl and you have full control of that.

Ok, thank you very much. One last question before I am able to continue on my own once again. Is there a cache of some sort set up or a internal (your server) refresh time? Some changes not appearing on "my" forum or in the management/edit admin panel.

What things? There are some caches, but nothing server side that should stop you seeing changes.

On the other hand some things like tab icons can stick terribly on peoples computers.

That would be the answer i was looking for. Logging out of admin panel, closing all tabs and clearing local cache cleared this issue as long as all sites pertaining to forums were closed upon clearing then restart browser (just in case someone else has same issue, mine was logo's and image/color changes and default css not showing correctly.). Thank you for your prompt and courteous answers.
